Owner Doug Book

Doug began building custom homes with the family’s construction business in Mesa in the early 1970’s. Having over 25 years of construction experience, Doug has been involved in building residential custom homes as well as commercial properties.

While working the family business with his brother, he began his home inspection career. In 2004, he went out on his own and formed By the Book Home Inspections. Using his construction background, Doug thoroughly and accurately inspects each home as if it were his own. By the Book Home Inspections serves the entire Valley and is available seven days a week.

By the Book Home Inspections is locally owned and operated by Doug Book. Providing detailed evaluations of the structural condition of the home, Doug incorporates digital pictures as part of his professionally prepared report. He specializes in inspecting resale homes, multi-unit housing, condos, town houses and manufactured homes. Doug also inspects commercial buildings, new-construction during the building process and 1 and 2 year warranty inspections on newer homes.

Doug is a member in good standing of ASHI and NACHI. Membership in these associations requires exams for tested knowledge, continual education credits, reporting requirements and personal background information. By the Book Home Inspections is bonded and licensed in the State of Arizona and fully insured. Doug is a member of the Phoenix Association of Realtors and the Glendale-West Maricopa Board of Realtors.
